I Got A Lot (New New New) - Mika Miko

The picture you are currently viewing above this text is Indie Punk band Mika Miko loitering outside of The Smell, a venue in downtown Los Angeles where hipsters gather to listen the venue's regular bands which include No Age and HEALTH. I discovered this band through Myspace Music (which is a first as the bands on the page are usually a pile of shit) and this band really clicked with me. Their music has a No Age sound to it, and in the song "I Got a Lot (New New New)" (which is what this post is about) a bit of a Surf Rock sound to it. I really liked this track, it was really catchy and unlike some songs where I have to listen to it a few times to like it, this one just instantly caught on. The song also has a music video, the way they dress in the video reminds me of Pulp Fiction.

Young Hearts Spark Fire - Japandroids

You know it's been a while since I've had something that was fun to listen to. And by fun I mean a song that is completely cheery with happy and careless lyrics. I don't remember how I stumbled across this song (I think youtube) Recently I've also been listening to a lot of bands with only two members for some reason (No Age, Wavves) and I guess I now have this band to add to the list. Japandroids are an Indie Garage Rock band from Vancouver.
Whenever I listen to a song or a set of songs by one artist a lot in a short period of time and then I listen to it in the future, I think back to the time when I listened to it a lot, sometimes it makes me remember that specific season of the year, or a vacation I took with my family, this song will definitely make me think back to this summer, I can just tell, I really like this song a lot, and I would buy the whole album, but you can only buy it on vinyl, so I have to wait for the next time I go to Toronto to buy it.
check the song out on youtube:
or on their myspace (they also have other songs from that album on it):
